Trafford Centre launches its biggest external live event ever
Manchester, United Kingdom

Trafford Centre has unveiled a vast live event to entertain visitors this summer. Titled ‘Summer Social’, the event features an 8,000 sq ft beach, retro fairground rides, live music and entertainment and exciting independent pop-up food and drinks brands, including Boujee Bar, made famous by its founder, reality TV star Lystra Adams. Spanning the area of two large car parks, Summer Social has been designed to offer visitors a holiday atmosphere for the summer season with its diverse entertainment options for all ages. The offering complements existing leisure options within the centre and has allowed retailers to get involved with special offers and discounts linked to the event wristbands. Summer Social has also been designed to support the local community, as local musicians, street artists and buskers have been invited to play on the stage in the dedicated events space. This covered area also features big screens where visitors can experience sports, live music and entertainment. Set to run until 5th September, Summer Social is running as a bookable event to ensure safe management of numbers in line with capacity limits, with various packages available to make the experience as tailored as possible for visitors. Philip Lunn, of Pradera Lateral, said: “Since taking over the asset management of the Trafford Centre in the spring, we have been keen to make a positive impact on the scheme that would resonate with retailers and locals alike. Summer Social is a significant achievement for us to showcase the huge appeal and sphere of influence that the Trafford Centre holds. Our vision for the centre is a true blend of leisure and retail, and Summer Social is a great first step towards this, bringing fresh brands and entertainment options to the centre in a dynamic way that complements Trafford’s existing 200 stores, restaurants and leisure attractions. We look forward to hosting many more events along these lines.” Zoe Inman, Centre Director, said: “It is a joy to see Summer Social up and running at the centre. We are thrilled to be hosting such a large and exciting event that brings together the best of retail and leisure. We hope to see visitors from far and wide coming to enjoy the experience and perhaps discovering the Trafford Centre for themselves for the first time.” For more information visit traffordcentre.co.uk/whatson/summersocial
