PRADERA MAKES SENIOR HIRE FOR ASIA JOINT VENTURE

Pradera, one of Europe’s leading specialist retail property fund and asset managers, today announced the appointment of Rhys Evans to the position of Head of Asset Management for its Pradera Retail Asia, the joint venture with Macquarie Retail Real Estate Management Limited announced in September.

Evans will be based in Shanghai and will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and execution of the asset management strategy.  He joins from Swire Properties where he spent over seven years in a variety of roles in Hong Kong and Mainland China and was most recently in charge of the leasing, management and repositioning of Pacific Place Mall, a premier shopping, dining, & entertainment destination in Admiralty, Hong Kong. He had previously overseen Swire’s China hotel portfolio, along with sourcing tenants and managing commercial lease negotiations for the Indigo Mall and Office plaza in Beijing.

David Fletcher, Chief Executive of Pradera, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Rhys to Pradera. His know-how and enthusiasm fits perfectly with our ambitions to extend our tried and trusted approach in the retail property market into other parts of Asia in due course, as we continue to drive growth for our clients into 2017.”

Pradera Retail Asia is headquartered in Hong Kong and provides asset management services in Asia. It is initially providing management services to three retail properties in Shanghai, Qingdao and Xi’an, owned by MIRA-managed companies. MIRA continues to be the portfolio manager and provide strategic asset management to all MIRA-managed assets.

Macquarie Retail Real Estate Management Limited is a subsidiary of Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (Hong Kong) Limited (MIRA).
