BARRY COX JOINS PRADERA RETAIL ASIA

Pradera, the specialist retail fund and asset manager, today confirms the expansion of its Asian team with the appointment of Barry Cox as Head of Business Development to Pradera Retail Asia, the joint venture with Macquarie Retail Real Estate Management Limited (a subsidiary of Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (Hong Kong) Limited (MIRA)) announced in September.

Cox, an experienced real estate executive and leisure specialist, joins from Merlin Entertainments, where he was Director of New Business Development, Asia Pacific, for the past 7 years.  As part of his role, Cox led the identification of investor and developer partners for projects throughout the region. He was formerly Associate Director at DTZ Debenham Tie Leung in London, Thailand and Vietnam.

David Fletcher, Chief Executive of Pradera, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Barry to Pradera. Leisure is an increasingly important element in retail malls and his knowledge of the leisure real estate market will be invaluable as we establish our Asian platform.”

Pradera Retail Asia is headquartered in Hong Kong, with an asset management office in Shanghai. It is initially providing management services to three retail properties in Shanghai, Qingdao and Xi’an, owned by MIRA-managed companies. MIRA continues to be the portfolio manager and provide strategic asset management to all MIRA-managed assets.
